HYDERABAD: Despite a century by Vijayshankar (105, 10x4) in Tamil Nadu’s second innings, it was opponent Baroda which finished in a strong position at the end of the third day’s play in the all-India under-19 cricket tournament for the Cooch Behar Trophy here on Wednesday. At close, Baroda was just 74 runs away from a win, with all ten wickets in hand. The scores: Tamil Nadu 102 and 252 (Vijayshankar 105, Thabarak Baik 35, Swapnil Singh three for 64, Abijith Karambelkar four for 32) vs. Baroda 205 and 76 for no loss (Kedar Devdhar 43 batting). Punjab 197 and 150 for five (Sharad Lumba 68 batting, Gurkeerat Singh 32 batting, Mithun three for 33) vs. Karnataka 188 (Sanjaykumar 72, Siddarth Kaul four for 59, Deepak four for 54).
