‘Bank has decided to waive loan’

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Deputy Commissioner K. Vishwanath Reddy said on Wednesday that the private bank concerned had decided to waive the tractor loan of Rs. 4.40 lakh and give the vehicle to the wife of Siddaraju who committed suicide recently.
Addressing presspersons here, he said members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) and people of Harave village had staged a dharna for three days alleging that the bank was responsible for suicide by Siddaraju.
He said that he had written to the Government and the bank seeking compensation to the kin of Siddaraju. The compensation from the Government would be disbursed at the earliest.
The bank had decided to waive the tractor loan and give the vehicle to the wife of Siddaraju, he said.
