Girl kidnapped, murdered

Rourkela: A nine-year-old girl was kidnapped and murdered as her father was opposing liquor business of two local youths, the police said on Wednesday. Two country liquor vendors were arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of the girl in Kanakjura village under Sadar police station near here. Gopal Pradhan (24) and Hari Munda (25) of the same village were arrested last night after the girl’s dress, a skull and bones were found from a nearby field, the sources said. The two accused confessed that they had committed the crime for taking revenge against the girl’s father who had been opposing their liquor business. The girl went missing on Dec. 15 and after intensive search her father had filed a complaint with the police. _ PTI
