CHARGE AND CARRY: The mobile phone with an attached charger.

MADURAI: Though he is an electrician, M. Abdul Razak always had an eye for invention and innovation. His latest innovation is a wireless mobile charger.

“In a fast-moving life, one need not worry about charging the mobile phone. With the attached charger, the user can charge it wherever there is a plug point,” he says.

At first look, anybody is sure to reject his charger which looks clumsy with pins ejecting from the back of the mobile phone, especially at a time when sleek and slender phones rule the roost.

“It can be made to sport a sleek look as the charger weighs 10 gm. The weight can be reduced,” he says and adds that the cost of making the charger is Rs.80.

Most often people tend to change the battery when the charger pinhole on the handset gets damaged. On one occasion, Mr. Razak found that he could charge the battery directly through the board. And soon, he had his own wireless mobile charger.

Night lamp

He has also developed a night lamp that can glow with the energy created by the movement of a table fan.

Other inventions

His other earlier inventions are: ‘two-in-one cooking filter valve vessel’ that boils rice like a pot and prepares ‘sambar’ or ‘kuzambu’ at the same time; ‘two-in-one fan’ that can bring in air from all sides with the usual oscillation and ‘letter-caller post box’ that will beep for five seconds as soon as a letter is dropped in.

To start unit

He plans to start a unit to manufacture two-in-one cooking vessels with a loan under Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana. Mr. Abdul Razak has a patent for his two-in-one cooking filter valve vessel.
