VKRC to host ANU hockey tournament

VIJAYAWADA: Acharya Nagarjuna University’s inter-collegiate hockey tournament for men will be held at VKR College at Buddhavaram from January 5 and 7, according to College physical director Srinivas here on Wednesday.

Chess coaching camp

Krishna District Chess Association is offering free coaching for youngsters from January 1 to 11 at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., according to KDCA secretary P. Srihari here on Wednesday.

Senior players along with international-rated player J. Malleswara Rao are imparting coaching.

Mini-National archery

Krishna District Archery Association will conduct the two-day senior inter-district archery championship for men and women on January 16 and 17 at IGMC stadium. KDAA will also host the first mini National (u-13) championship for boys and girls at Vijayawada from January 17 to 20, according Andhra Pradesh Archery Association president Anil Kamineni.

Pat for AP team

Members of Andhra Pradesh Throwball Association on Wednesday felicitated the women’s team which finished runner-up in the 30th senior National championship held at Kottayam from December 26 to 29. AP women lost to Tamil Nadu (2-0) in the final.

Prabhu Kiran felicitated

Krishna District Cricket Association on Wednesday felicitated Prabhu Kiran, who was selected to represent India u-19 team in the triangular series in South Africa. Vizag’s G.V.S. Prasaad and D. Siva Kumar are the other Andhra players in the team. — Sports Reporter
