Lalu Prasad’s sons beaten up

NEW DELHI: Two sons of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad were allegedly beaten up by some unidentified young men at Mehrauli here on Tuesday while on their way to attend a New Year party. A personal security officer accompanying the siblings -- Tejaswi and Tej Pratap -- lost his service pistol in the melee for which a complaint has been lodged with the police.

According to the police, Tejaswi and Tej Pratap, both in their early 20s, were on their way to attend a New Year party in the Mehrauli area in the early hours when they lost their way. The two asked a group of young men to help them locate the venue and a minor altercation broke out between them. Later, the PSO realised that his service pistol had gone missing in the scuffle and a case was registered.

The police officers were not forthcoming on why the altercation actually broke out between the two parties.
