AIR music competition for students

KANNUR: ‘Music Jodi’ competitions being organised by All India Radio Kannur, Kozhikode and Manjeri stations began at the Krishna Menon Memorial Government Women’s College here on Thursday. The first phase competition held at the college was inaugurated by Kannur University V-C P. Chandramohan. P. Rajeswari, A. Idris (Brennen College, Thalassery), K. Martin, Ashwini Gangadharan (Nirmalagiri College, Koothu paramba), P.V. Ranya, V. Aneesh (PRNSS College, Mattannur), T.K. Sruthi, Apna Chandran (KMM Government Women’s College), C. Sreerag and Reesha Ramachandran (Kanhirangad Arts and Science College) emerged winners in the first round.

The second phase of competitions will be held on zonal basis. The Kannur zone contest will be held at the Brennen College on January 15 and the Kasaragod contests will be at Payyannur on January 17, AIR Kannur Programme Executive K. Balachandran said. The final winner would be presented cash prize of Rs.1 lakh.
