Quality management conference begins

KOCHI: A two-day national conference on ‘Quality management and competitive benchmarking issues,’ organised by the Rajagiri School of Management, began here on Thursday. Marine Products Export Development Authority Chairman G. Mohan Kumar inaugurated the event.

In his address, Mr. Kumar stressed on the importance of quality management. He said the process should start right from the roots. Mr. Kumar also highlighted various aspects of the quality chain. Joseph I. Injodey, Principal, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, presided over the inaugural function.

Abraham Koshi of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and AVT Natural products and AVT McCormic ingredients Private Ltd managing director M.S.A. Kumar spoke on quality-related issues in the marketing stream.

M. Bhasi of the Cochin University of Science and Technology; Kerala head of Reliance Fresh Biju Vithayathil and Binani Zinc vice-president (operations) K. Sasi also spoke.
