MLA’s demand

Soon after the budget meeting began in the ZP Conference Hall, Padala Aruna, a TDP MLA, quoting newspaper reports, demanded that the chairperson should clear doubts on the audit objections for Rs. 36 crores.

Senior Congress MLA P. Sambasiva Raju said that there was no precedence for such a discussion in the budget meeting.

When TDP district president and ZPTC member Yadla Ramana Murty joined Ms. Aruna, ZPTC member Botsa Appala Narasaiah, brother of Housing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, while stating that they would not believe in newspaper reports, said there was no need for a discussion now. Conceding to their demand, the chairperson said the auditors pointed out 157 objections under various heads of accounts and they would be clarified in the next meeting.

Honorarium

Later, following an appeal from the members, a resolution appealing for enhancement of honorarium for ZPTC members and mandal parishad presidents from Rs. 1,500 per month to Rs. 5,000 was passed.
