‘Education is basis for development’

Sirsi: Progress in education is the basis for all-round development of a person. Hence, every child should get good education, president of Uttara Kannada Zilla Panchayat Standing Committee on Education and Health G.N. Hegde Muregar has said.

He was speaking at the “Chintana” meeting for headmasters and School Development Committee members of Siddapur taluk on Wednesday at S.V. High School. The meeting was held under the auspices of Siddapur Taluk Panchayat and Taluk Secondary School Teachers’ Association. Secondary school education was important as it was a turning point in children’s life. Hence, they should be given proper motivation and guidance, he said.
