Pact for academic exchange programme

Kozhikode: Educare Institute of Dental Sciences (EIDS), Malappuram, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) for academic exchange projects recently.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Educare Trust managing trustee Nasser Kilyamannil said the tie-up would benefit the students and the faculty of the institute.

The students and staff of EIDS will have access to Boston University Medical Center Medical Library online for research, training and scholarship purposes.

BUGSDM will provide advice in the design, execution and performance of clinical research protocols for multi-centre studies based on experience at the BUGSDM Clinical Research Centre.

The US Centre would also provide faculty speakers for Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programmes, Mr. Nasser Kilyamannil said.

BUGSDM faculty will also conduct site visits to EIDS. BUGSDM will also host a limited number of scholars for short visits to BUGSDM and Boston, he said.

EDIS is planning to set up post-graduate courses and nursing schools and colleges in the future.

The Institute is affiliated to the Calicut University.
