Illegal structures demolished

Srinagar: As part of its efforts to beautify the Dal Lake, the authorities on Thursday demolished six illegal structures, including a house and a showroom, in the fresh water body.

The structures were demolished by the special squad in the lake here, an official spokesman said.

He said the demolition was carried under the supervision of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mehboob Iqbal.

The structures demolished included a house, a showroom and a structure having three bathrooms, the spokesman said.

The authorities demolished 23 structures besides small tin sheds in the lake last week.
