Revert to two-day CET, appeals MLC
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Member of Legislative Council Y.A. Narayanaswamy, on Wednesday, said that he would take a delegation of parents and academic experts to Governor Rameshwar Thakur seeking him to revert to a two-day Common Entrance Test schedule if the CET cell did not revoke its decision to hold all exams on a single day.
Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Narayanaswamy said that the earlier system of conducting two-day CET exams was better, since it afforded time for students’ preparation. Stating that it was unscientific to hold CET for all four subjects on a single day, he said the schedule will be a burden on students, particularly those from rural areas. He said that the authorities should have studied the viability of holding all the subjects in a day, and that such an instance has not been found anywhere in the country.
