Auto passenger robbed of cash CRIME NOTES

BANGALORE: An autorickshaw driver and his three accomplices robbed a passenger of Rs. 250 in cash after threatening the victim with a knife in Nandini Layout police station limits here on Wednesday.
The police said that around 10.30 p.m. Rajashekar boarded an autorickshaw on Nandini Layout Ring Road to reach his house in Muneshwara Block in Laggere. A passenger was already seated in the vehicle. After travelling some distance, the driver picked two more passengers.
When Rajashekar objected, the driver and the three other men threatened him with a knife and robbed him of the cash, the police said.
They took only Rs. 250 of the Rs. 450 that Rajashekar had on him.
Arrested
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) staff arrested Karthik Kumar (18) who had allegedly burgled four houses after he escaped from the Central Prison in Parappana Agrahara on September 21, 2007.
The police have recovered from him gold and silver ornaments valued at Rs. 7.50 lakh.
