Ban on sale of whiteners sought
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: The Confederation of Voluntary Associations (COVA) on Thursday expressed serious concern over the increasing cases of children getting addicted to ‘whitener sniffing’.
A majority of them, mostly deprived children, are said to be addicted to sniffing of this liquid substance.
Some of the children are said to resorting to offences to purchase it. Public Gardens, Secunderabad and Kacheguda railway stations are places where they are found inhaling it.
Director, COVA Childline, Mohammed Turab, at a press conference, demanded that the government impose a ban on sale of whiteners.
Children addicted to the whitener face serious respiratory and digestive problems.
