Farmer drowns in sea

NAGERCOIL: A farmer who came to attend the farmers’ conference at Rameswaram drowned in the sea at Kanyakumari on Thursday.

According to sources, Krishna Govinda Kunnavar (75) of Santhiyoor district in Maharashtra had gone to the Bhagavathy Amman temple.

While taking bath at Sangilithurai, he was washed away by a giant wave. The police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. — Staff Reporter
