Kannur claims title

VIJAYAWADA: Kannur University emerged winner of the South-West Zone inter-university volleyball tournament for women defeating MG University (Kerala) in the final league match 26-24, 25-19, 25-19 at the Siddhartha Medical College grounds here on Thursday.

Kannur finished with six points .

The results (league): Kannur bt Madras 3-1 (25-14, 25-13, 20-25, 25-19); bt Calicut 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-17); bt MGU 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-19).

MGU bt Madras 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-14); bt Calicut 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-10).
