Kannur North maintains lead in school festival

Set to win high school section in district fete; Payyannur in second spot

PAYYANNUR: Kannur North, which continued its lead on the final day of the district school festival at Payyannur on Friday, is all set to win the overall title in the high school general section of the competitions.

Kannur North scored 457 points when competitions in half-a-dozen categories remained to be completed. Payyannur, which had been closely behind Kannur North from day one, was in the second position with 450 points. Taliparamba North secured 386 points to be in the third place.

UP segment

In the upper primary segment, Thalassery South was likely to be the overall champion with 194 points, followed by Kannur North with 188 points and Pappinissery with 180 points. Payyannur was leading in the high school Sanskrit section with 200 points, while Taliparamba North and Thalassery North remained in the second and third positions with 191 and 184 points respectively.

In the UP Sanskrit category, Payyannur was the leader with 225 points. Madayi was in the second place with 202 points, followed by Kannur with 186 points

In the high school Arabic section, Panur was leading with 167 points, with Madayi and Kannur North in the second and third place with 161 and 150 points respectively. Panur was set to be the topper in the UP Arabic section too with 114 points.

Kannur North and Madayi bagged 101 and 98 points respectively.
