Personnel had done well in maintaining law and order, crime prevention and traffic regulation Prizes, commendation certificates and awards given for individual performances
In recognition: Coimbatore City Police Commissioner C.K. Gandhirajan (right) presenting the Best Assistant Commissioner of Police award for 2007 to K. Kumarasami (Law & Order, Coimbatore Central) on Friday. — Coimbatore: The City Police Commissioner, C.K. Gandhirajan, on Friday handed over cash rewards, good service entry, commendation certificates and mementoes to the police personnel besides recommending meritorious service entry for officers for the performance during 2007. The parade was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Police, P. Sugumar (Law and Order), P. Nagarajan (Crime) and S. Manoharan (Traffic). Mr.Gandhirajan said that awards, rewards and commendations formed part of the appreciation to encourage and motivate personnel to do better. The City Police were able to ensure results during the year because of the efforts put in by the police personnel in law and order maintenance, crime prevention and detection and traffic regulation and enforcement, hence the decision to record the appreciation to those who had performed their duties well and distinguished themselves. Mr.Gandhirajan handed over the best performance to the following officials: K. Kumarasami, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Law and Order – Central), K. Soundararajan (Race Course Police Station), K. Rajendran (Intelligence Section – Administration), Sub-Inspectors S. Chandramohan (Podanur), R. Jeevanandhan (Kuniamuthur) and S. Kaliswari (Sai Baba Colony) for the meritorious performance. The Commissioner also handed over prizes, commendation certificates and awards to a number of Assistant Commissioners, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and personnel for their individual performance in various cases. On the occasion of the parade organised, the Commissioner handed over 83 Good Service Entries and 293 cash rewards. During the year 2007 a total of Rs 6.47 lakh was given away as cash rewards. HonestyMr.Gandhirajan also gave away mementoes to two school girls Dharanipriya and Mallika of RKS Sree Rangammal Kalvi Nilayam in appreciation of their sincerity and honesty in handing over a cheque and other documents found on the road to a nearby traffic police constable.
