Case filed against private school ‘trainee teacher’

Staff Reporter

He “dupes” teachers promising them jobs

PERAMBALUR: The District Crime Branch police have registered a case against a ‘trainee teacher’ of a private school, who allegedly duped five teachers promising them jobs in government colleges.

The youth, R. Muzhil (30), is absconding after allegedly collecting Rs.14 lakh from the teachers of private educational institutions by issuing photostat copies of fake appointment orders to join duty on Friday as lecturers in government colleges.

According to the police, Muzhil had collected advances and received the balance sums by issuing photostat copies of the fake appointment orders with an assurance to provide them the original order copies on or before January 3.

The photostat copies of the forged government appointment order carried the name and address of the aspirants; the colleges to which they were posted and even their date of superannuation.

Job aspirants realised only on Thursday that they had been taken for a ride when they found to their dismay that Muzhil had vacated his residence. Subsequently, the school management, where Muzhil had joined as ‘trainee teacher’ a couple of months ago, claiming that the stint was mandatory for him to assume charge as the Selection Controller of the Teachers Recruitment Board, realised that he had joined the school by producing bogus documents.

The aspirants submitted a petition to the Superintendent of Police Prem Anand Sinha and the District Crime Branch registered a case under Sec. 406 (Criminal breach of trust); 420 (Cheating) and 468 (Preparation of forged documents and records).
