Alumni association’s contribution

KARUR: The Alumni Association of the Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Chinnatharapuram, in Karur district has contributed Rs. 83,000 towards upgrading facilities under the Namakku Naame scheme in the school.

Association members V. Ponnusamy V. Shanmugasundaram and P. Nallathambi along with school Headmaster K. Selvaraj handed over a cheque for the amount to the Collector T.N. Venkatesh as part of their contribution under the scheme.

Mr. Venkatesh said that the government’s contribution of Rs. 1.60 lakh would be sanctioned shortly and from the total sum of Rs.2.43 lakh bench, desk and other furniture would be bought for use in the school.
