PERAMBALUR: The Secretary to the Chief Minister (Monitoring), T.V. Somanathan, on Friday reviewed schemes in Perambalur and Ariyalur districts. He also inspected several places in these districts.
He also held a discussion with the officials of these districts. The Collectors, Anil Meshram (Perambalur) and V. M. Xavier Chrisso Nayagam (Ariyalur) and the Superintendents of Police Prem Anand Sinha and S. Muthusamy were present. In Ariyalur, Mr. Somanathan inspected the Farmers’ shandy and assessed facilities. Later, at Adhikudikadu in Rayampuram village panchayat, he had an interaction with the president, A. P. Selvaraj, who had earlier submitted a petition to the Chief Minister for funds.
At the Government Higher Secondary School in the village, he inspected free bicycles to be distributed to the pupils. In Perambalur, Mr. Somanathan inspected the newly-started Government ITI and also ascertained the progress of the work on the construction of the Bharathidasan University College near here.
He visited the Apparel Training and Design Centre, drip irrigation work at a private sugarcane field near Siruvachur and the primary health centre in Kaarai.
