Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday said her government was working towards making Delhi smoke-free by 2009 and already eight raiding squads were actively implementing the ban imposed at public places in the city.
Addressing representatives of various international organisations working in the field of tobacco control the Chief Minister said the plan of action to make Delhi smoke-free would be implemented in partnership with civil society.
Further, the campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lungs Disease would work with the Delhi Government in monitoring nicotine level at various public places.
