Haryana to develop new township

The Sampla township will have Cyber city, Medi city and Bio-Science city

Chandigarh: Haryana government has decided to develop a new township ‘Sampla’, with a Cyber city, Medi city and Bio-Science city in its vicinity.

The township, between Bahadurgarh and Rohtak, will be built on 7,180 hectares of land, of which 1070 hectares will be used for developing Bio-Science city, 550 hectares for Medi city and 223 hectares for Cyber city.

The decision was taken here on Friday at a State-level Committee of Town and Country Planning Department meeting which was presided over by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is the Chairman of the Committee.

Draft Development Plan for Sampla Urban Complex, 2021 and for Sohna 2021 were approved during the meeting.

The new Sampla Urban Complex will consist of 40 sectors of which, 19 would be residential, 8 sectors each would be reserved for industrial and institutional activities, one sector each for commercial, transportation and communication purposes and three sectors would be made available as open space.

On the development plan of Sohna, the Chief Minister said that the area for the project had been increased from 2450 hectares to 3475 hectares on which 19 sectors would be developed.

Out of these, six sectors would be commercial and industrial each, one sector had been reserved for transport and communication while two sectors each have been earmarked for institutions and open space.

Mr. Hooda also announced that after the completion of global corridor Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Express Way, Sampla and adjoining areas falling in Rohtak and Jhajjar districts would get special boost in the developmental process.

He directed the authorities to develop sufficient space for public utilities keeping in view the future demands. -- PTI
