Corrections and clarifications

In a tennis report “Serbia, U.S. in Hopman Cup final” (“Sport”, January 4, 2008), France and Chinese Taipei were not in the same group as India, as given to understand in the text (last paragraph). They were grouped with Serbia and Argentina.

It was erroneously mentioned in the third paragraph of a report “Manchester City moves to fourth place” (“Sport”, January 4, 2008) that Liverpool drew with Sunderland. It drew with Wigan, as given in the results column.

The first paragraph in a report “Work begins on container terminal” (Kerala, December 4, 2007, page 5) was: “Work on the Vallarpadam International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT) had an auspicious start here on Monday with a ‘bhoomi puja’ attended by nearly a 1,000 people. The terminal builder Dubai Ports World (DP World) reiterated its commitment to commission the first phase of the project in tandem with the completion of the critical road and rail links to the project site.” [Though the report is a month old] Ms. Anna Fernandes, Internal Communications Officer, DP World, Dubai, clarifies that the name of the company was wrongly mentioned as “Dubai Ports World”. The company’s official and legal name is DP World. DP World has been used ever since Dubai Ports International merged its operations with the Dubai Port Authority in 2005.
