NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel has tied up with VeriSign, a leading provider of Internet infrastructure for the networked world, for jointly launching information security services in India. The partnership will deliver VeriSign’s identity protection, managed security and fraud detection services to support the development of next-generation Internet infrastructure in the Indian market. Under the arrangement, Bharti Airtel will become VeriSign’s “strategic market partner” and deploy its services in India. “These services aim to revolutionise the way enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, and consumers can use Internet and develop new applications that leverage the convergence of mobile and Internet platforms,” said Airtel’s Director (IT & Innovation), and Group Chief Information Officer, Jai Menon. Bharti Airtel will also utilise a number of VeriSign’s capabilities, including VeriSign Identity Protection (VIP) services, to significantly improve the internal capabilities of its own infrastructure, he said.
