Immunisation day

National Immunisation Day will be observed in nine risk-prone districts including Visakhapatnam on Saturday by administering polio-1 strain-specific monovalent oral vaccine among children aged up to five years.

The district administration will set up 3,625 pulse polio immunisation posts and 104 mobile teams to administer the drops to 4.42 lakh children. Special focus is being given to vulnerable groups like fishermen and nomadic. Under National Surveillance Project, elaborate arrangements are made to cover children at parks, beach road, railway station and bus stands.
