Arrested for demanding bribe
NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Director (Housing-MIG) of the Delhi Development Authority and a Pollution Test Inspector of the Transport Authority on charges of demanding and receiving bribes.
The Assistant Director, Gurcharan Singh, was allegedly caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.2,000 from the complainant. The accused had demanded bribe for giving an early date for execution of conveyance deed of a plot allotted to the complainant by the DDA.
According to the CBI, Pollution Test Inspector G.S. Raju was accepting a bribe of Rs.8,000 from a person to issue no-dues certifications for conversion of five auto-rickshaws from two-stroke to four-stroke.
