Two farmers end life

GULBARGA: Two farmers committed suicide in Gulbarga district reportedly unable to repay debts and the failure of crops. According to reports reaching here on Friday, Mallappa Mailari Sasagargoan (72) jumped into the Chandrampalli Dam in Chincholi taluk on Tuesday, while Nanagowda C. Police Patil (30) consumed poison at Kollur in Jewargi taluk in Gulbarga district on Friday. The reports said that the body of Mallappa Mailari was retrieved from the reservoir today. The victim jumped into the reservoir unable to bear the harassment of the officials of the bank from where he had taken a loan of Rs. 50,000. In the other case, Nanagowda Police Patil had taken a loan of Rs. 50,000 from a bank and had also taken loans from private moneylenders. However, he could not repay the loans due to the failure of crop. — Special Correspondent
