KORAPUT: Rukmani Khilo of Jholaguda, Chandrama Masiha of Nuaguda, Dasu Gundlia of Santaliaguda villages under Lima panchayat were among the few fortunate tribal women who got the rare opportunity to interact with reputed scientists, attending the 95th Indian Science Congress being organized at Visakhapatnam. Scores of tribal women from Koraput district took part in the first National Virtual Congress of Mahila Kishan by sitting in the Village Resource Centre (VRC) of MS Swaminathan Research Foundation in Jeypore, interacting with the scientists using satellite communication technologies developed by ISRO. Rukmani, one of the tribal women, asked whether there could be any sustainable measures which could be taken to get water easily in the fields in upland areas of Koraput district.
