THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.K. Krishnadas has said that Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan should clarify whether the government has got an intelligence report that the BJP, the United Democratic Front (UDF) and anti-social elements will create trouble in Sabarimala during the Makaravilaku festival, . Mr. Krishnadas told reporters here on Saturday that Devaswom Minister G. Sudhakaran’s statement to this effect was an attempt to escape the public ire for the lapses committed by the government and the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) in Sabarimala during the pilgrim season. Mr. Kodiyeri, who is in charge of Intelligence, and Mr. Achuthanandan should say whether they approved of Mr. Sudhakaran’s statement. He accused the Devaswom Ministry and the TDB of committing human rights violation against Sabarimala pilgrims. The government should register a criminal case against the Minister for such lapses, he said. The BJP will organise a march to the TDB headquarters here on January 9 in protest against the lapses.
