Ban on entry tax hits revenue

KOCHI: Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said banning entry tax had affected the revenue earned through Sales Tax proceeds. Talking at a function organised by the Kerala Merchants’ Welfare Board, he said the Ordinance for reintroducing entry tax has been submitted for the approval of the President. He said that dues under the welfare fund would be distributed within a month. Reconstituting the welfare board before the next budget is also under consideration, he said. — Staff Reporter
