KOCHI: Self-financing Engineering College Managements Association on Saturday announced that any proposal on this year’s admission process could be given to the government only after the fee regulatory committee initiates steps to ratify the fee structure proposed by the managements. A general body meeting of the association held here endorsed the executive council’s decision that there was no point in going ahead with the talks at a time when the decision of the fee regulatory committee was pending. Association general secretary C.I. Abdul Rahiman said that the managements had submitted their fee proposals before the committee in February last year. But the committee failed to give its decision even after the completion of the admission process last year. He said that the managements had proposed a fee structure ranging between Rs.50,000 and Rs.85,000 last year. Association pleaThe association has urged the authorities to speed up the process of fixing the fee of various engineering college managements to avoid problems in this year’s admission process.
