New Master Plan for Jaipur soon

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: The newly appointed Rajasthan Minister of State for Urban Development, Housing and Local Self Government, Surendra Goyal, on Saturday said a new “Master Plan-2025” for Jaipur would be formulated shortly to cover the 247 villages brought within the jurisdiction of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) recently.

Addressing the JDA officers at a high-level meeting here, Mr. Goyal said the Master Plan would make provisions for basic facilities, urban amenities and development of infrastructure in a “balanced and harmonious manner” for the benefit of Jaipurites.

Mr. Goyal said the JDA would shortly devise a scheme to allot plots of land to the poor at concessional rates and protect the Pink City’s rich architectural heritage and beautiful landscape.

“We will ensure that Jaipur gets a prominent place on the global map and attracts more tourists from all over the world,” said Mr. Goyal, adding that the JDA’s role in the city’s beautification would be enhanced.

The Minister warned against encroachments and illegal constructions in the city and said the JDA officials would be held responsible for any negligence on this front.

JDA Commissioner D.B. Gupta made a presentation on the projects such as Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), shooting range, ring road, sports city, hotel land bank, memorial forest, film city and establishment of super speciality hospitals to promote medical tourism.
