Gujarat BJP thanks people
Special Correspondent
AHMEDABAD: The executive committee of the Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has thanked the people of the State for electing the party back to power in the last month’s Assembly elections and resolved to work to “capture” Delhi in the coming Parliamentary elections.
In a resolution adopted at the meeting on Saturday of the executive, first since the Assembly elections, the party said the outcome of the elections was a clear indication of the people’s dissatisfaction with the Congress ideologies and policies and rejection of its “negative attitude.”
The executive decided not to rest till the saffron flag fluttered in Delhi and the BJP was back in power at the Centre.
Besides the State BJP president, Purshottam Rupala, and the party in-charge for the State, Om Prakash Mathur, the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, and the newly sworn-in members of his Cabinet were present at the meeting.
Through another resolution, the party expressed serious concern over the situation of the Gujaratis in Kenya and urged the Central government to take necessary steps for their protection.
It also wanted the Centre to make arrangements for easy term loans to those Gujaratis in Kenya who suffered heavy damage to their property there in the current election-related violence.
