Sporting Clube prevails over East Bengal

Margao: Sporting Clube de Goa prevailed over East Bengal by a solitary goal in an ONGC I-League ninth round match at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.

Adjei Lawrence scored the all-important goal in the 52nd minute after being put through by Micky Fernandes from the right.

Sporting, which notched up its second successive win, now has nine points from nine matches.

East Bengal has seven points from the same number of matches. — PTI
