BANGALORE: Time was when shorthand was a requisite in journalism. At the 195th birth anniversary celebrations of Sir Isaac Pitman — who devised shorthand — organised by The Shorthand Writers’ Association of Karnataka here on Friday, C.N. Seetharam, secretary of Revenue Department, said even in today’s world of information technology, the old ways of recording such as shorthand should be safeguarded. — Staff Reporter
