Woman dies as taxi hits from behind

NEW DELHI: A 57-year-old woman was killed when a tourist taxi hit her from behind and then dragged her a few metres at Malviya Nagar in South Delhi over the weekend.

According to the police, Madhuri Kapoor, a resident of Khirki Extension in Malviya Nagar, was taking a stroll along the road with her husband Azad Kapoor when the taxi hit her around 9 p.m. The driver managed to flee from the spot. Ms. Kapoor was rushed to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences where she was declared brought dead.

A case has been registered at the Malviya Nagar police station and efforts are on to identify and arrest the driver.
