Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to be extended Children’s census for three days from January 21 DHARWAD: Chairman of the high-level committee constituted to formulate an admission policy for private schools, from pre-primary to pre-university courses, in the State, G. Kumar Nayak, has said that the committee will submit its report by the month-end. He was addressing presspersons on Saturday after holding an interaction with the representatives of private management boards in north Karnataka. Mr. Nayak, who is also Commissioner of the Department of Pubic Instruction, said three meetings of the committee had been conducted so far. He said that the committee was functioning on the lines of the Ganguly Committee set up by the Delhi Government. The final recommendations would be made after consolidating the views of educationalists, teachers and various other stakeholders, he said. The ultimate objective was to make the admission process more transparent, he added. To a query, he said action would be taken on modifying the question paper pattern of SSLC after the committee set up for the purpose submitted its report. He said that children’s census in the State would be conducted for three days from January 21. The “Samudayadatta Shale” project would be taken up across the State on January 29 and 30, he said. The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan would be extended to high schools in the State, Mr. Nayak said. Directors of Public Instruction T.M. Kumar and Mohemmed Shareef were present. Earlier, the committee members interacted with the representatives of various educational institutions. Representatives of educational institutions from Dharwad, Belgaum, Haveri, Gadag, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Karwar and Badami participated.
