Ponmudy distributes dhotis, saris

VILLUPURAM: Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudy distributed dhotis and saris to beneficiaries at Keelperumbakkam here on Sunday.
The Minister said that about three lakh dhotis and saris would be given away in the district as ‘Pongal’ gift. They would be distributed through fair price shops.
The Minister on Sunday arranged for the distribution in all the 36 wards of the Villupuram Municipality and 10 places in Koliyanur block, including Salai Agaram, Thordarnthanur, Koliyanur, Panankuppam, Sahadevanpettai, Valavanur, Otteripalayam and Kooniyampalayam.
Mr. Ponmudy directed the officials to cover the whole lot of beneficiaries before January 12. Collector Branjdenra Navnit and municipal chairman K. Janakaraj accompanied him.
