THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State government has given sanction for opening a special counter for registration of marriages at the Sree Krishna Temple at Guruvayoor on public holidays. Minister for Local Self-Government Paloli Mohammed Kutty said the holiday counter had been sanctioned in view of the difficulties faced by devotees at the temple, which witnessed several hundred marriages everyday. The Minister said the Government had given sanction for appointment of additional employees to man the counter. The government also decided to make available the services of a doctor at the Mother and Child Hospital on honorarium basis, as the Guruvayoor Municipality did not have a primary health centre. — Special Correspondent
