Tribal hostel mess charges to be hiked

KADIRI (ANANTAPUR DT.): Minister for Tribal Welfare and Remote and Interior Areas’ Development D.S. Reddya Nayak on Sunday stated that the mess, cosmetic and other charges to the students of tribal as well as other hostels would be hiked from the next academic year.
The government had already taken a decision on the increase in some of the charges and a decision would be taken on others at a meeting scheduled on January 10. Talking to newspersons here, he said the cosmetic charges would go up from Rs. 25 to 75 and the hair -cutting charges for boys would go up from Rs. 5 to 12 per month.
Uniform
Similarly, the government had already taken a decision to supply four pairs of school uniform to the hostel students from the coming academic year from the present two pairs. Decision on the quantum of increase in mess and other charges would be taken at the January 10 meeting, he noted.
