State neglecting poor: IIT Ramaiah

Rajahmundry: Speakers at the 17th State conference of the Students Federation of India’s on Sunday called upon the student community to beware of increased political interference in education sector and disparities in the education system. MLC Chukka Ramaiah, in his opening remarks at the second day of the meet, said education had become a burden on poor students and the successive governments were trying to keep education away from poor students. He said Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, had described TDP president N. Chandrababau Naidu as agent of World Bank when the latter was in power.
But now Dr Reddy was doing the same things for which he had criticised Mr Naidu then, he said. He called upon the student community to take up agitation.
