Kolkata: A day after veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu reaffirmed his support for infusion of capital, both foreign and domestic, for development of West Bengal, Industries Minister of the State Nirupam Sen said on Sunday that the path being pursued by the State government was uncharted “as none has moved along this path before.” Book releasedMr. Sen, who is also a member of the central committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), was speaking at the release of a collection of his essays in Bengali entitled Bikalper Sandhane (In Search of an Alternative). The essays reflect the views of the CPI(M) that are in consonance with the changing reality, he said. The book was released by Biman Bose, secretary of the CPI(M) State Committee. “The essays are based on our views that have been shaped by our experience in these changing times,” Mr. Sen said. Mr. Bose spoke of the difficulties that needed to be overcome while adapting to the demands of change, “bearing in mind the importance of safeguarding the interests of the working people.”
