Steady climb for MAA Television Out Of the box

FAVOURITE SOAP: A still from ‘Ammamma.com’.

If MAA TV is in an upbeat mood these days, it has every reason to be. The year 2007 ended on a very good note for the channel which registered a steady rise in terms of channel share.

Innovations and new approach did seem to have yielded some results as it began the year with around 6 per cent channel share and citing TAM data, claims to have closed it with 12.06 per cent market share getting ranked as the second in the State. R 16;Pokiri’, the movie which was screened as part of the MAA Blockbuster Movie too has helped the cause.

Move away from the routine, package it innovatively and position it appropriately. And, accolades are sure to come your way.

Many might wonder on what kind of entertainment appeal a contemporary viewership will have for material based on folk arts. But ‘Rela re rela’, a concept of talent search for folk singers on television and telecast on Saturdays turned out to be a wonderful show and came with a whiff of freshness.

The show along other content such as ‘Ammamma.com’, ‘Radha-Madhu’ and ‘Yuva’ clearly helped the channel in raise its position further in the last few months. The channelplans to roll out more new concepts.
