Of sweet ‘Tangy’ memories

It was an event where three generations of schoolmates met, exchanged happy memories of “those good old days,” with a tinge of nostalgia. They went back with the fond memories of their school days at Infant Jesus Anglo Indian High School (IJHS) at Tangasseri in Kollam. The event, christened the “Big Tangy Bash” (BTB), was organised on the IJHS campus on December 29. For the students of IJHS, Tangasseri was always “Tangy” and hence the na me.

More than 600 alumni of the school, many of them with their family, took part in the BTB. Some had flown in from Canada, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Gulf countries.

The function was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Stanley Roman. Kollam Mayor N. Padmalochanan addressed the gathering and Aloysius Gonsalves, a 1964 batch alumnus, spoke on behalf of the old boys. Teachers who retired from the school were honoured.
