The usage of cell phone is on the increase day to day as they are useful to contact the beloved ones round the clock, and to pass on information without any hassles. The BSNL sells recharge coupons to its customers. But, the customers are facing inconvenience, as the BSNL is deducting amount for receiving the messages also. It is important to mention here that these messages are unsolicited and unwarranted. I request the BSNL authorities not to send such messages and penalise the users. Pattabhi Ajitsingh Nagar, Vijayawada Laudable effortThe efforts of Guntur district Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Ladha for bringing back the naxals to the mainstream are laudable. In fact, it is a Gandhian step, as all other ways such as combing, ambushing and shoot at sight have failed. It is said that the programme is yielding some results as many naxalites have started surrendering in the recent past. The police should continue their efforts to bring back normalcy in naxal infested areas in the district. H. Kalyan Rao Chandramouli Nagar, Guntur An eye-openerThe government abolished the Trust Board of Kanaka Durga temple following the tragic end of six persons in a stampede. But, the government never bothered about the functioning of the Trust Board. It is high time the government desisted from appointing people with political affiliations and having no knowledge of rituals, deekshas in temples. The Trust Board members should always work in coordination with officials. Let us hope that the tragedy in Kanaka Durga temple would be an eye-opener to the people at the helm of affairs. K.L. Prasad Governorpet, Vijayawada Viewers’ sentiments ignoredCondoling and mourning somebody’s death is extremely sensitive and delicate issue. Of late, many regional TV channels are overenthusiastically reacting and trying to project the mourning scene in most disgusting manner. It is highly disagreeable to watch such reports on the channels, as the reporters present the issue with their objectionable gesticulations and shouting. More over, they thrust the mikes on the face of the bereaved persons and pose all irrelevant questions. Further, the channels repeatedly telecast it without any concern for viewers’ sentiments. It clearly reflects the poor style of newsgathering. Kowtha Sriprakasa Labbipeta, Vijayawada Heinous actA heinous act of a teacher trying to molest children came to light at Kavuru village in Cherukupalli mandal in Guntur district a couple of days ago. This type of socially unacceptable incidents are on the rise in the recent past. Such acts would tarnish the image of the entire teaching community. K. Vidya Brodipeta, Guntur
