1 cr. signatures plea for President

HYDERABAD: A delegation of the Mana Party leaders on Saturday submitted to President Pratibha Patil a list of one crore signatures collected by the party activists seeking reservations for backward classes and other sections on the basis of their population.

Kasani Gnaneshwar, MLC and president of the party, led the delegation, which called on the President and submitted the list of signatures, which it had collected over a period of one month from November last year.

The leaders sought her intervention in the issuance of a Constitutional Amendment providing for population-based reservations.
