Victims stated to be out of danger Police launch hunt for accused NEW DELHI: A domestic help drugged an elderly couple and their daughter and made off with valuables from their residence at New Friends Colony here on Saturday. The victims are stated to be out of danger. According to the police, the incident came to light on Sunday morning when Sanjay Chakarvarty went to meet his parents-in-law Harish Kapoor (72) and Aruna (70) and their daughter Dolly (36). The door was opened by Dolly after repeated knocks. When Sanjay entered the house, he found Mr. Kapoor and his wife lying unconscious on the floor and the sofa. The police were called in immediately and the three were taken to All-India Institute of Medical Sciences. Enquiries revealed that about a week ago, Mr. Kapoor had employed a 21-year-old Nepali national, who identified himself as Shankar Bahadur, as a full-time domestic help. It is learnt that his identity verification had not been done. On Saturday night, the domestic help served dinner to the family members after which they lost consciousness. The police are trying to find out about the valuables missing from the house. A Crime Branch team visited the scene of crime later in the day to lift fingerprints and collect other evidence. Mr. Kapoor used to run an advertising agency and has been associated with the residents’ welfare association of the area. The New Friends Colony police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the accused. They are questioning the person through whom the domestic help had been hired.
