HYDERABAD: The Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme in twin cities on Sunday, which is also National Immunisation Day, covered an estimated 6.75 lakh children aged upto five years, District Medical and Health Officer Ch. Jayakumari said.

Over 12,000 personnel were deployed in 3,200 booths in various parts of the city to make the pulse-polio drive a success.

The drive was held at all the polling stations, which were converted into polio-posts, Anganwadi centres, public parks, railway and bus stations and even airports.

The drive was kicked-off by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy from his camp office on Sunday morning.
